A forum for informed dialogue on Europe and the world

rome events

Since January 2026, under the leadership of Nathalie Tocci, the Institute for European Policymaking at Bocconi University has launched a series of closed-door events at the SDA Bocconi Rome Campus.

These meetings provide a space for rigorous, policy-relevant discussion on key international and European developments. Bringing together policymakers, diplomats, academics, and experts from leading think tanks, each session offers first-hand insights into the issues shaping Europe’s strategic environment.

Rather than public conferences, these are curated conversations held under the Chatham House Rule, allowing for open and candid exchange among participants. This format prioritises substance over visibility, fostering informed dialogue grounded in expertise and direct experience.

A cross-sector policy community in Rome

The initiative is designed for a diverse but highly qualified audience: policymakers operating in the institutional ecosystem, members of the diplomatic community, academics, and analysts from think tanks and research organisations.

What unites participants is not institutional affiliation, but a strong interest in European and international policy and a willingness to engage in substantive discussion. The objective is to create a trusted space where different perspectives can interact constructively, bridging institutional and disciplinary boundaries.

The effectiveness of each discussion depends on the quality of this exchange. For this reason, participation is curated to ensure relevance, expertise, and active contribution.
