Beata Javorcik
Beata Javorcik is Chief Economist of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and a member of its Executive Committee. She is also Professor of Economics at the University of Oxford and a Professorial Fellow of All Souls College, currently on leave.
Before joining the EBRD in 2019, she worked at the World Bank in Washington, DC, where she focused on research, lending operations and policy advice. She is also a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR).
Her research focuses on international trade, foreign direct investment and economic development, with particular emphasis on how developing and transition economies can benefit from global economic integration. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Yale University and has published extensively in leading international academic journals.
