Giulia Giupponi

Giulia Giupponi is an Assistant Professor of Economics in the Department of Social and Political Sciences at Bocconi University. She was previously a Post-doctoral Fellow at the Institute for Fiscal Studies and earned her PhD in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Her research lies at the intersection of Labor and Public Economics, with a focus on the employment and welfare effects of social insurance programs and the impact of minimum wage policies. She holds an ERC Starting Grant for the project “Lifting Up the Working Poor (LIFT-UP)”, which studies the optimal design of in-work anti-poverty tools, examining their economic and distributional effects as well as their political and social feasibility.
