Julian Hinz is a Professor of International Economics at Bielefeld University and Head of the Research Group Trade Policy at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. He received his PhD in Economics from the Paris School of Economics and Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, and was a Max Weber Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence. He has held research and teaching positions at the Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (DICE), the Kiel Institute, and Bielefeld University. His research lies at the intersection of international economics and data science, with a focus on international trade, foreign policy, migration, and applied econometrics.
