Simon Goerlach is an applied economist. He received his PhD in Economics from University College London, and an undergraduate degree in International Economics from the University of Tübingen. He is a research affiliate at BIDSA, CEPR, CReAM, IGIER, IZA and LEAP.
His research interests include labor economics, political economy, development and macroeconomics. One focus of his research is on geographic mobility, migration duration, and migrants’ assimilation and investment decisions. Some of his current work spans from the political economy of European Union legislation, over macroeconomic effects of inner-European migration, to the drivers of emigration from poor countries.
