Dr Sanne van der Lugt is researcher and policy advisor on China in Africa, Chinese technological developments and the consequences for European strategic autonomy. Because of her background in Anthropology, International Political Economy and International Business, she studies these topics from different angles. As a researcher at the Center for Chinese Studies of Stellenbosch University in South Africa, she has conducted fieldwork in various African countries. She has carried out research projects for Oxfam, WWF and the European Commission, among others. She has experience with running a business in China and provides training and advice to European policy makers.
