Stefano Micossi is Advisor on strategies and policies, Assonime, a business association and think tank in Rome and Visiting Fellow at European University Institute; he was formerly Director General in Assonime (1999-2022) and a Director General in the European Commission (1995-99), director of economic research in Confindustria (1988-94) and an economist in the Research Department of the Bank of Italy (1973-88), where he rose to the rank of Director of International research; in 2016 he was appointed Honorary Professor at the College of Europe, after teaching there as visiting professor for almost twenty years

Cinzia Bianco is a visiting fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations, where she is working on political, security and economic developments in the Arabian Peninsula and Gulf region and relations with Europe.

Eleanor Spaventa is Professor of European Union Law at Bocconi Law School, Milan (Italy). She previously worked at the law schools of Durham, Birmingham and Cambridge Universities (UK); in 2014 she held a Christopherson/Knott fellowship at the Institute for Advance Studies in Durham and a Fernard Braudel Senior Fellowship at the European University Institute. Eleanor has also held various visiting appointments including Visiting Professor at the College of Europe in Natolin (2009-2012).

Eleanor's research interests lie in European Union Law and in particular in the fields of European constitutional law, free movement, fundamental rights, Union citizenship and Brexit. Her work is widely referred to including by by Advocates General of the European Court of Justice and she has been invited to provide written evidence on the Lisbon Treaty by the House of Lords Constitution Committee and has submitted evidence (and was quoted in the final report) to the Ministry of Justice as part of the balance of competences review on Fundamental rights. She was also invited to give oral evidence to the Scottish Parliament on citizens' rights after Brexit.

Eleanor has authored studies for the European Parliament's PETI Committee on Article 51 of the Charter; and on Citizens' rights after Brexit.

Eleanor is an analytical expert for the MoveS network (previously FreSsco), a network of independent experts on the free movement of workers and social security funded by the European Commission to provide expert guidance in these fields; she has co-authored two reports on barriers to movement and atypical employment.

Vittorio Colao is Vice Chairman of EMEA at General Atlantic. In his role, Mr. Colao draws on his extensive expertise in technology, consumer and digital platforms to provide strategic counsel to the firm’s global investment teams and portfolio companies across EMEA. He previously served as Senior Advisor to General Atlantic from 2019-2021.

Mr. Colao returned to the firm after serving as Minister of Technological Innovation and the Digital Transition for the Italian government from 2021-2022, a role in which he led the growth of inclusive and efficient digital services across Italy and oversaw the country’s space program. Prior to this, Mr. Colao spent 20 years at Vodafone Group, serving as Group Chief Executive for a decade, where he led the business’ significant growth into one of the largest telecommunications groups globally. He currently serves as a Non-Executive Director at Verizon and is an Executive Committee member of Bocconi University in Italy.
